If you’re not from the UK or if you’ve not heard much about the Lake District (or ‘the Lakes‘), it’s a stunning region and national park in the northwest corner of England. If you’ve not been, you need to add it to your travel list. If you have been, add it to your list to again!

The Lake District has a special place in my heart; I have so many fond memories from when I first experienced them that I have revisited every year for the past four years. It’s a place I’m continually drawn back to, with so many parts that still remain unexplored for me. Each time I visit, I challenge myself to try new walks and hikes, and to experience new adventures.

During my last trip in September 2021, I planned a walk to Easedale Tarn. It’s one of the less challenging hikes in the Lake District, but the ascend is steep enough for it to feel like an achievement – especially when you’re carrying a DSLR and multiple lenses…

Easedale Tarn is known for being one of the more popular hikes in the Lake District, and it’s easy to see why: it offers beautiful countryside views, bridges and even a waterfall as you start to ascend towards the tarn. You’ll also reach a spot by the waterfall where you can go for a wild swim (or just sit and chill with a book, if that’s more for you).

Once you reach Easedale Tarn, expect a peaceful oasis where you can choose to go for a swim, stop for some lunch, or simply read. To head back, you can choose to complete a round-trip or head back down the same route you came from.

Hiking to Easedale Tarn, Lake District, is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the striking natural beauty that the UK’s landscape has to offer.
